Framed art and frame styles from the shop floor
These are real photographs of our walls on Lexington Avenue. The range is easier to appreciate in person, but this is a good place to start.
Paintings, posters, a jersey, a flag and a map: the range of what gets framed here.
The sample wall. Each corner is a moulding you can hold against your piece.
Ornate mirrors, antique maps and matted art, with finished orders along the floor.
Columns of corner samples, from slim modern profiles to carved gold.
The shopfront on Lexington Avenue, with the sample wall visible through the window.
Getting ideas from the walls
Look at how the moulding relates to the work. Slim black frames sharpen a photograph, while a gold profile warms a painting and a wide cream mat gives a small piece more presence. Then look at the mat, which often does more than the frame to set the mood.
