Custom picture framing in Manhattan
A frame should suit the piece, the room and the person who owns it. Bring in what matters to you and choose from over 2,000 frame styles.

What people bring in
Custom framing starts with the object, and almost anything flat or shallow can be framed well. Our walls hold paintings, exhibition posters, photographs, a baseball jersey, a flag and maps. One customer came to us to frame a New York Times article they appeared in.
If it matters to you, it is worth framing properly. Bring it in and we will look at it together.
What you choose
- The moulding. Over 2,000 styles in every shape, color and size, from slim black profiles to ornate gold.
- The mat. The board around the piece. It gives the work room and keeps it from touching the glass.
- The glazing. Clear glass, non-glare glass or acrylic, depending on the piece and the room.
- The backing and hanging. What closes up the frame and how it goes on your wall.
How it works
Bring your piece to the shop on Lexington Avenue. We hold corner samples against it so you can see each option next to the actual work rather than imagining it. Once you have settled on the moulding, mat and glazing, we build the frame and let you know when to collect it.
You do not need to arrive knowing what you want. Most of the decision happens at the counter, with the samples in your hands.
What it costs
Price depends on the size of the piece, the moulding, the mat and the glazing, so we quote against your actual choices. Call (212) 831-2224 or stop in, and we can talk through options that suit your budget.
